Laureate of International competitions, pianist Svetlana Ponomareva was born in Omsk, Russia. She is a graduate of the Omsk Music College named after V.Y. Shebalin and of the Gnessins Russian Academy of Music in Moscow where she as well completed her DMA in Piano Performance. She studied in the class of Professor A.A. Alexandrov and Professor A.I. Satz. Svetlana currently collaborates with the Laureate of the 2023 International Tchaikovsky competition violinist Ravil Islyamov. She also participates in the concert series "Minin Choir. Soloists" of the Moscow State Academic Chamber Choir as well as other individual projects. She has performed in various venues such as the Grand and Small Halls of the Moscow Conservatory, Alexander Hall in Kremlin and the Mariinsky Theater Historical Stage. In 2004 Svetlana made her debut at Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall). As a soloist and with chamber ensembles she has performed in Russia, Germany, USA, and Canada, has collaborated with such conductors as Sergei Skripka, Yuri Nikolaevsky, Dmitry Vasiliev, Vladimir Rylov, Valery Khalilov, Anatoly Levin, Sergei Durygin. She has recorded eight CDs on the "MV Productions" label.
