"Song without Words" Op.6 orchestral premiere!

As a unique partnership between the North Shore branch of the BCRMTA and the Lions Gate Sinfonia, every two years or so, young soloists are offered a chance to perform with the orchestra under the direction of Maestro Clyde Mitchell. In preparation to the event, they all played two solo recitals, one recital with string quartet, and two full orchestra rehearsals over two weeks!

Just like in 2015, for this year's 2018 Pianos Galore concert, soon 12 y old Antoine Villéger played his own composition "Song without Words" Opus 6 which he also orchestrated in full.

Here is the official video of their performance with the Lions Gate Sinfonia:

The second part of the concert featured young up and coming virtuoso Canadian pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurko who deliciously played Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto No. 1 in G Minor Op. 25
